Popularity: 0

Specialities:
Apes have standard Speciality choices with a strong preference for weapon Specialities or Acrobatics. Horse Riding (Drive applied to a Horse) or Motorcycle Riding (Drive applied to a motorcycle) are also popular.
Powers:
Apes are Transformed simians taken from the Great Ape families and Risen using a process that combines transgenic injections and chemical treatments. The children of the first generation of the modified animals are intelligent Ape capable of speech, controlling their breathing (the major barrier to all non-humans speaking) and using tools and weapons. Escaped populations of Apes live in Refuges in the form of forgotten military bases or lost valleys, plotting for the day when they will overthrow the human race. Some "basic" Apes are super-powered meaning that in addition to the species characteristics listed here they have an additional Origin as a superbeing of some kind.

  • ENVIRONMENTAL AWARENESS (Decent): Apes have a natural sensitivity for the living world, natural environment, especially jungles and forests but extending to all natural unspoiled areas and their state of health.

Contacts:
Apes usually have a Leader who keeps an eye on all of them and acts as an interfering Contact. Most adventurer Apes also have at least one Adult Human (FASERIP RPG page 54) Contact in the outside world. This Human is likely either a researcher involved in their creation, someone who stumbled over them or an outcast from human society who makes common cause with the Apes.

Limitations:

  • Dirty Stinking Nonhuman: all human characters have an innate immediate dislike of Apes on first contact. A Psyche feat can overcome this feeling which may never return. For humans only having casual contact with Apes this prejudice never goes away and makes all negotiations and discussions between Apes and humans suffer a -2RS penalty.

Notes:
There are several enclaves of Apes across the Earth. The Ape superhero Howler comes from one such Refuge in the Virunga region of the Congo.
