Powers:
Conundrum is a costumed stage magician with a streaming show. He investigates alleged miracles, super powers, monsters, cryptids, scams, historical mysteries, UFOs, supernatural experiences and mysterious place. If the story he investigates is true he says so; if it is some sort of hoax, supervillain plot or scam he says that too.

Conundrum has absolutely no super powers whatsoever, other than "super power" of being indescribably personally wealthy. His Wealth has been spent on self improvement, erasing his original identity, learning his skills, and creating safe houses, laboratories, lairs, Vehicles, Devices and "Gaffs" (stage magic tricks) of all kinds. With enough preparation he can simulate ANY power. He even has trained doubles who act in his place so that should a stage magic trick require him to actually die - or already has - no one will even be certain that Conundrum is dead or alive or if the Conundrum who shows up next time is the same man. The Powers listed below are all simply special effects technology taken to the ultimate level.

  • ULTIMATE DISGUISE: Conundrum wears a disguise on his head which is a skintight cowl. It covers most of the inside of his mouth as well the exterior of his head. With it, he can simulate his normal public identity, its voice, its DNA signature, his apparent blood type and any other required data with Phenomenal intensity. Similar skinsuit elements cover his other extremities.
  • ULTIMATE WEALTH (Phenomenal)
  • DIAL P FOR POWER (Phenomenal): the character can access any chosen Power required each round as a free action and use it in that same round. At the end of each round the character can choose to lose that Power and pick another one or continue using it.
  • Quick Change (Phenomenal): the character can swap between their costumed full powered form and their civilian identity as a single action. The Rank of this power helps indicate how "quick" the change really is: characters and Vehicles slower than this Rank will not take their action before the Quick Change is complete unless the Quick Change character is taken by surprise.
  • Master of Disguise (Phenomenal): The Rank in this Power substitutes for the ordinary Reason roll when the character attempts to disguise themselves. The character can also have a number of previously established identities equal to the score in this Power. Once a "slot" of these disguises is used this should be noted on the character's sheet.

Contacts:
Member in good standing of the Magic Castle.
Torquay Tiger: a sad local "superhero" with no powers or special abilities at all. He's basically just a sometimes inebriated homeless man who lives sleeps and fights crime in a stained old mascot costume. From time to time Conundrum provides Torquay Tiger with a new mascot outfit but Torquay has resisted all efforts to improve his suit.

Notes:
Conundrum is a heroic, cheerful and relentless hero. His usual crimefighting is restricted to things like solving the Mystery of the NASA Gargoyle or the Secret of the Bank-Robbing Mothman, but he can and will involve himself in a whole range of espionage, paranormal, supernatural or celebrity cases.

If he is working for a client who can afford it, he charges at a monstrous level of invoicing. Often, since he is already extremely wealthy, he acts more as a dilettante, picking and choosing his cases.
