Popularity: 31 a living legend, his Forest Call, his very name has become synonymous with high adventure, the wild places and heroism.

Talents / Specialities:
Misitu Bwana is an Astounding master of survival in forest or jungle.
Specialities: Knife fighting x4 (+4RS), Archery, Spear, Athletics, Acrobatics, Climbing, Wrestling x 4 (+4RS), Swimming & Diving, Escapology

Powers:
John and Alice Clayton, Lord and Lady Greystoke are marooned on a jungle shore. Making their way inland, they make a treehouse to live in. Their plan is to await rescue. There, they have a son on 22 November 1888. Around the time of the child's first birthday, the Claytons are killed by Kerchak, leader of the Mangani, a rough-living group of rebel Apes from the Virunga Ape City. The baby survives and is adopted by an ape named Kala. Kala names him Ngozi Nyeupe ("White Skin"), and he eventually kills Kerchak in a fight.

At around the age of 20, Misitu Bwana meets an American woman named Jane Porter, and her father. He falls in love with Jane at first sight. He travels to the United States to find Jane, but soon returns to Africa, becoming the chief of the Waziri tribe, and leading his men to find the lost city of Opar. After learning that he is actually Lord Greystoke, Misitu Bwana marries Jane and returns to his ancestral home in London. Misitu Bwana and Jane have a son named Jack who takes the name Mtoto wa Misitu, Son of the Forest. Eventually, Misitu Bwana becomes unhappy with civilization, and the family returns to Africa.

  • SWINGING (Astounding): Misitu Bwana can swing on ropes and vines, or anything else suitable with effortless grace and ease equal or better than any trapeze artist.
  • LORD OF THE BEASTS (World Class): A limited form of empathy and telepathy and his great sympathy and attunement to animals of all kinds allows Misitu Bwana to call upon all animals in range of his mighty voice. When he lets out his call to the wild in the form of a yodelling cry or yell, all animals within range of this Power come to his location and await his command, if any. Misitu Bwana can also make a Silver or higher roll on this power to select a type of animal to summon. The animals serve him voluntarily but it is still effectively a form of short duration Mind Control while called upon to serve him. Misitu Bwana never abuses this gift, never sends animals into battle ahead of him and never throws their lives away.
  • REGENERATION (Decent)
  • SUPER SENSES (World Class): Misitu Bwana has heightened sense of smell, sight and touch. He uses these heightened senses to detect danger or track his prey.
  • DANGER SENSE (Decent)
  • FEATS OF STRENGTH (Great): Misitu Bwana can, when enraged enough, shift his Strength for one round to Astounding (50).
  • NATURE HAS THE ANSWER (WIZARDRY: Gadgets) (Great): By going on a relatively short quest as set by the gamemaster, Misitu Bwana can attempt to find a "Gadget" in the form of a plant, berry, animal venom, tooth, totem, idol, traditional medicine pill, mysterious element, gem or other product of the natural world or savage lands that answers a need. The Rank of the Power notwithstanding, the Gadget can provide a solution or weakness for any potential threat or foe.
  • ENVIRONMENTAL AWARENESS (World Class)
  • KAVURU PILLS (IMMORTALITY): Following a dangerous quest, Misitu Bwana and his wife Jane, together with a Chimp ally, their son Mtoto wa Misitu and a couple of American allies on the quest receive equal amounts of the Kavuru Pills. This folk medicine created by the apparently immortal but certainly violent and peculiar Kavuru people grants Immortality in the form of long life - but not indestructibility. Although the character does not seem to age for many decades, they can still be hurt or killed.
For this reason this Power which ordinarily does not have a Rank has a Rank equal to the character's Psyche for the purposes of determining if they will in fact reform or come back from the dead.

Limitations:

  • LIVED TOO LONG: from time to time, and at least once per game month, this character must make a Silver roll on Psyche or fall into a listless depression in which they mourn those they knew who have died, and mourn the better times of the past. This listless period is a period of complete inactivity that can last up to a week. At the end of the week the character snaps out of it and is their usual self.
  • CONTEMPT FOR CIVILIZATION: this character despises modern civilization, seeing it as hypocritical, destructive, materialistic, sick and evil. The character will never voluntarily used technology including modern vehicles and weaponry and avoids any civilized population center. When forced to remain in a civilized area the character suffers -1RS on all rolls for each population increment of the area, with Zero Rank being wilderness and higher Rank numbers multiplied by 10 indicating the number of people per square mile. Thus at population intensity Average, 60 people per square mile, the character is suffering a -3RS on all rolls. This effect only applies to human settled civilized areas but does include farmland in "civilized" countries and regions.

Notes:
Misitu Bwana and his family live in complete obscurity near the Virunga Ape City and Opar in an elaborate but still stone age technology treehouse. Although friendly to their many friends and acquaintances they do not welcome strangers, who so often in the past have been the herald of a new supervillainous scheme to disrupt the natural world and steal its many treasures.
